Like a traditional roadmap, this page is intended to keep track of our wiki's planned route through the solar system 🛸 as well as some of its development highlights along the way.

As some of the wiki's first pages are added, plenty of foundational work is going on behind the scenes: installing a number of key components and attempting to set them up 'just right'. These include:

* The [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiEditor WikiEditor] extension and toolbar – to enable more formatting options when adding new content!
* The [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MobileFrontend MobileFrontEnd] extension – to make the site look much friendlier on mobile devices
* The [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Moderation Moderation] extension
* The [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions ParserFunctions] and [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RandomSelection RandomSelection] extensions – together, these are first being used for the randomly-picked quotes that appear on the front page, to give the site a more dynamic and friendlier feel.
* The [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Widgets MediaWiki Widgets] extension for including elements like YouTube videos across the wiki.

==== Enabling other AdP fans to contribute ====

After a lot of thought, a (hopefully) robust system has been put in place requiring anyone wishing to contribute to the wiki to (1) request an account, and (2) provide a valid email address.

There are several reasons for this:

* to mitigate, as much as possible, any future issues with spam
* to reduce the likelihood of needing to spend the rest of our lives moderating the site
* to remove the need to add unfriendly hoops for everyone to jump through, such as CAPTCHAs, all over the site.

Our aim is to make (and keep) this wiki as approachable, informative and fun as possible. The current vision is to create a kind of 'independent online fan-zine' vibe, with a core team of semi-regular contributors adding content to the wiki for everyone in the Fan Klōb to enjoy!

==== Helping people to contribute effectively ====

Started building out a [[ADP_Wiki:Style_Guide|Style Guide]] with examples for including images and videos on the wiki's pages.
